Control Resonant Ending & Post-Game: What Opens After the Credits

How does Control Resonant end?

The endgame runs five linked missions:

  1. The Hedron Link — rescue Pope and defeat the Hedron Parallel.
  2. Sever the Hedron Links — inside the Unknown, remove the links at both sites: the Patterned Field Office and the Patterned Evac Building.
  3. Rebuild — a playable retro-flashback sequence; track the slide order in the dump.
  4. Fight to the Core — cross Red Sand Island to reach the Hedron.
  5. The End — the final boss fight against the Hedron itself.

Killing the Hedron earns Repeating, Refracting (silver), and severing the links along the way nets The First Link and Stop it at the Source — see the full trophy list.

What happens in the epilogue?

The Beginning sends Dylan back to the Oldest House for a closing visit with Jesse — it resolves the Search for Jesse thread the whole campaign hung on, and it closes the last mission entry in the log.

What stays open after the credits?

Everything. Post-game free roam keeps all of Manhattan accessible, and the game writes a permanent save after every main mission, so cleanup is risk-free:

  • All 18 side stories, World Feats, and FBC Tasks
  • Any zone Resonants left alive — remember each kill triggers a Resonant Cycle that brings defeated enemies back slightly stronger
  • Every collectible track — doors, dogs, taxis, cameras, balloons, sketchbooks, hideouts, facilities
  • The Mural in the Gap — repairable once all six Resonants and the Hedron are down; finishing it awards the gold Graffiti Artist trophy
  • Zone levels, Talents, and Artifact crafting for the remaining progression trophies

Do you need New Game Plus?

Not for the platinum — every trophy is reachable in one playthrough plus free roam. New Game Plus is for a different run entirely: a fourth Artifact slot, new talent nodes, multi-pick boss rewards, and new boss behaviors. Start it when you want a harder second pass, not because a checklist demands it.
