Control Resonant Patch 1.3.3 Notes — Day-One Hotfix (Sep 24)
Control Resonant hotfix 1.3.3 patch notes — enemy health and Falter cuts, Dancer and Deserter tuning, cheaper respecs, and the Steam 92GB re-download.
What did hotfix 1.3.3 change?
Remedy pushed 1.3.3 on launch day, September 24 — 01.300.300 on PS5, 1.3.3.0 on Xbox Series X|S, 1.3.3 on PC (about 350 MB on PS5). It targets early feedback that enemies felt too tanky and that Dylan’s combat strength didn’t scale fast enough in the opening hours.
Combat tuning
- Reduced base health and required Falter (stun) level of most enemies, plus the Dancer and Deserter Resonant fights
- Increased maximum Aberrant Strength and Ability Strength — the increases follow a curve, so the more upgrades you own, the more damage you deal
Builds and respecs
- The cost of respeccing Dylan’s build is permanently reduced
- Reset Item stock increased at all in-game vendors
- The first Resonant, The Artist in Downtown, now drops two Reset Items instead of one
Remedy also reminded players that Assist Mode can fine-tune the experience in either direction — and it never disables trophies.
What are the UI text changes?
Two English strings were clarified (localizations to follow):
| Setting | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Aberrant Strength | “Multiplier X%” | “Damage and Falter X%” |
| Build Power | “Calculated based on equipped Weapon Forms, Talents and Core Upgrades.” | “From unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms/upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades.” |
Why did PC players re-download 92 GB?
The hotfix landed about an hour before the Steam launch and triggered a platform mechanism that forced players who had already preloaded to re-download the entire ~92 GB install. Remedy apologized publicly — “we don’t have an excuse” — calling it an oversight. It’s a one-time cost, not a new install size: the PC requirements still list 120 GB of SSD space.
What does 1.3.3 mean for a new run?
Mostly that the early game is friendlier than reviews suggested — and that respec anxiety is off the table. Take the Orientation ability pick (Barrage, Volatile Anomaly, or Shield) without stressing, since a wrong call costs almost nothing now. The beginner guide covers the combat loop the patch tuned.
