Control Resonant Aberrant Forms: All 6 Confirmed Weapon Forms

What is the Aberrant?

The Aberrant is Dylan Faden’s paranatural weapon — an Object of Power that shapeshifts between melee forms mid-combat. A loadout is three pieces: a Primary Form, a Secondary Form, and a Combo Ender, each with its own talent tree. Hot-swapping between forms mid-combo is the core of the combat loop.

What are the six confirmed forms?

Slot Form Role
Primary Slice Single-target focus with a backstab bonus
Primary Slash Wide sweeps and knockback for crowd work
Primary Flurry Fast hits with high crit uptime
Secondary Crush Slow, heavy, chargeable hammer blows
Secondary Extend Long reach with a perfect-charge reward
Secondary Drill Repeated stabs that stack a damage-over-time effect

The Aberrant has also been seen manifesting as a hammer, dual blades, a scythe, fists, and a whip across previews — the named forms above are the confirmed loadout pieces as of September 16, pre-release.

How do you upgrade and respec the Aberrant?

Two layers: Aberrant Upgrades raise raw strength toward a cap of 100 (there’s a trophy for maxing it and another for maxing a single Form), while talent trees per form reshape how each plays. All of it is managed in the Gap — Dylan’s psychic headspace, reachable with down on the d-pad — and respeccing is free, so treat early talents as experiments.

Which forms pair well together?

Preview builds point to pairing a fast primary with a utility secondary: Flurry or Slash to build resources, then Drill or Crush for Falter damage and executions. Once abilities enter the mix — Heat Wave melts Mold armor that melee struggles with — form choice becomes a build decision rather than a preference. We’ll update this page with tested pairings after the September 24 launch.
