Control Resonant Bosses: Every Resonant Confirmed So Far

What is a Resonant?

Resonants are the biggest threats in the game — former “persons of power” corrupted by the Patterning, the third paranatural force invading Manhattan alongside the returning Hiss and Mold. Each Resonant anchors its zone’s corruption, and killing one grants Dylan a new combat ability — some offer a choice of one of three.

Which bosses have been confirmed?

Boss What’s known
The Deserter A magma factory boss — towering smokestack marks its lair; you fight through Hiss to reach it
Central Resonant Giant fiery monster that turns the floor to lava and bursts magma — shown in IGN First footage
The Collective Mass of enormous Mold-formed faces with three phases; summons smaller enemies and tentacles
The Hedron Endgame entity with severable “Hedron Links” / “Pattern Links” per the leaked trophy list
“Dancer” A Resonant shown in preview builds — details still thin pre-launch

Zone-flavored Resonants are also implied by the trophy list — leaked entries reference kills across six zones: Unknown, Underpass, Park, Central, West Incursion, and Downtown.

Why does killing a Resonant make things harder?

The twist: Resonants are largely optional and tackleable out of order, but each kill makes the world’s threats scale up — Manhattan grows more dangerous as you free it. Combined with zone leveling, the world reacts to your progress instead of you outleveling it. Pick your kill order deliberately.

How do Resonant fights play?

Preview footage shows multi-phase encounters with breakable points, summoned adds, and heavy Falter/execution windows — Assist Mode can widen dodge timing without disabling trophies. In New Game Plus, bosses gain new behaviors, so a second run isn’t a rerun.

What about regular enemies?

Three factions: Hiss (the returning corruption — airborne shooters and ground troops), Mold (armored fungal enemies — crack the casing with heavy hits or burn it off with Heat abilities), and Patterning creatures tied to Resonant corruption. Breaker-class enemies can be commanded for a trophy.
