Control Resonant New Game Plus: What Carries Over
New Game Plus is in Control Resonant at launch — what carries over, what resets, the fourth Artifact slot, and how boss ability choices change.
Is there New Game Plus in Control Resonant?
Yes — Remedy confirmed NG+ ships at launch, not as a post-launch patch. It’s a real second-run mode, not just a stat carryover: bosses get new behaviors and the build system opens up further.
What carries over to NG+?
- Aberrant upgrades and form progress
- Health and Power upgrade resources
- Combat abilities earned from Resonants
- Talents and Artifacts
What resets?
Traversal abilities do not carry over. Reach, Shift, and the movement kit are re-earned through the world — which keeps zone gating intact on a second run. Plan exploration accordingly: our zones guide covers how zone levels interact with ability gating.
What’s new in NG+?
- Fourth Artifact slot — first runs cap at three equipped Artifacts
- New talent nodes not available on a first playthrough
- Multi-ability boss rewards — Resonants that offered a 1-of-3 choice can grant additional picks, so divergent builds converge across runs
- New boss behaviors — Resonant fights change rather than replaying identically
Does NG+ matter for platinum?
Almost certainly. Between the extra Artifact slot, the talent nodes, and stacking boss abilities, some trophies — like maxing an Aberrant Form or commanding a Breaker — are likely easier or only reachable on a second run. Treat your first playthrough as the scouting pass.
