Control Resonant Assist Mode & Difficulty Settings Explained
Control Resonant has no difficulty levels — instead, Assist Mode lets you tune enemy aggression, dodge windows, damage, and more. Trophies stay enabled.
Does Control Resonant have difficulty levels?
No — there’s a single intended difficulty, which Remedy describes as “well-balanced, yet challenging.” Instead of Easy/Normal/Hard, the game ships with an expanded Assist Mode: a menu of individual sliders that adjust specific mechanics without flattening the whole experience.
What can Assist Mode adjust?
Per Remedy’s official breakdown, each option is independent:
- Enemy Aggression — how often enemies attack from multiple directions
- Perfect Dodge Window — widen the timing if you’re struggling to read attacks
- Enemy Projectile Speed — slow incoming projectiles
- Incoming Damage / Outgoing Damage / Outgoing Falter — tune both directions of the damage and posture economy
- Power Recovery Speed — refill the ability bar faster
- Enhanced Melee Magnet — how strongly attacks pull Dylan toward targets
The sliders work both ways — you can make the game harder as well as easier, which pairs well with the aggressive combat loop if you want more punishment.
Do Assist Mode settings disable trophies?
No. Remedy confirmed trophies stay fully enabled with Assist Mode on — there’s no penalty for using it, which makes it a legitimate tool for the platinum run rather than a cheat flag.

When should you use it?
- Reading enemy attacks: widen the dodge window first — it’s the setting with the least impact on intended difficulty.
- Glass-cannon frustration: nudge Incoming Damage down rather than touching Outgoing Damage, so the combat rhythm stays intact.
- Learning fights: raise Power Recovery to practice ability timings against Resonant bosses before dialing it back.
